Mark Kelly Releases List of Early Arizona Veteran Supporters

Today a diverse group Arizona veterans gave their early support to retired Navy Captain and candidate for U.S. Senate Mark Kelly. The list of veteran endorsers includes enlisted veterans and commissioned officers from each military service branch, each major conflict since the Korean War, and communities across Arizona. Kelly himself served 25 years in the U.S. Navy and at NASA, completing 39 combat missions during Operation Desert Storm and four shuttle missions, and retired in 2011 with the rank of Captain.

“It’s an honor to have the support of this accomplished group of veterans who served our country in uniform and continue to serve Arizona as leaders in business, in their communities, and in service to their fellow veterans,” said Mark Kelly. “Arizona is home to so many servicemembers, military families, and veterans. Military service and standing up for our veterans are at the heart of who we are, and will be at the heart of my service in the U.S. Senate.”

“Mark Kelly has proven through his steadfast support for his wife Gabby and his honorable service in the Navy and at NASA that he is a man of great integrity. The experience that Mark gained flying in combat and commanding the space shuttle demonstrates that he possesses the leadership skills to solve difficult problems and serve Arizona. Now more than ever, we need proven, principled leaders like Mark Kelly.” – Lieutenant General Claudia Kennedy, U.S. Army veteran

“Mark has shown time and again that he is the type of leader Arizonans can count on to unite us around solving difficult problems. I myself utilized the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill and have worked on issues surrounding veterans homelessness, so I know how important it is that our veterans services work and that we keep our promises to our vets. I know that Mark will not rest until every veteran gets the support and care they have earned through their service.” – Sergeant Mark Cardenas, U.S. Army veteran

“As an Air Force veteran and STEM professional I am happy to endorse Mark Kelly for the commitment to service and science that he will bring to the United States Senate.”  – Staff Sergeant Nikki Lee, U.S. Air Force veteran

“Mark has dealt with some of the most challenging and dire situations imaginable through courage, cooperation, and teamwork. He also knows that solutions can come working with people of differing views and backgrounds. I know he will bring those qualities to the Senate where he will help Arizona, and the nation, meet the many challenges facing us.” – Major Tim Crowe, U.S. Army veteran

“I believe Captain Kelly is level-headed, clear-eyed, and pragmatic – virtues I look for in any candidate.” – Dave Bertagnoli, U.S. Marine Corps veteran
