Mark Kelly on Paycheck Protection Program running out of money

Today, Mark Kelly released the following statement on the Paycheck Protection Program running out of money after only 10% of Arizona small businesses got approved for relief, and the Senate adjourning for the week without addressing it:

“Washington needs to get out of its own way, immediately put more resources into this program, and fix some of the issues that have made it harder for Arizona small businesses to get this relief. The Arizona small businesses I’ve spoken with aren’t receiving the help they need and can’t wait any longer. Right now, big banks have the power to choose what applications get priority, and that’s not how this should work. This money should go where it’s needed most. Congress needs to get this done.” – Mark Kelly

On Tuesday, Kelly held an Instagram Live discussion with Local First Arizona to discuss the issues that Arizona small businesses were having accessing the Paycheck Protection Program.

On 4/10, Kelly spoke out in a statement on reports that small businesses in Arizona were having trouble accessing the funds that were intended for them, and that big banks were favoring certain customers in administering that small business relief.
