Mark Kelly: It’s Time to Help Arizonans, Not Hit the Campaign Trail
As Senator Martha McSally has been campaigning in Arizona nearly a week after the Senate left town without passing additional relief, Mark Kelly released the following statement on the need for Washington to get back to work as Arizonans continue to face challenges during the coronavirus pandemic:
“Many Arizonans I’ve spoken with are faced with making the impossible decision of whether to pay rent, buying a week’s worth of groceries, or fill their prescription medications,” said Mark Kelly. “This is not the time for the Senate to be on vacation or for Senator McSally to hit the campaign trail — it’s time for the Senate to do its job and pass relief to help unemployed Arizonans make ends meet, and keep small businesses afloat.
“Arizonans deserve a leader who will treat this crisis with the urgency it requires. Senator McSally is showing us right now what her priority is — getting elected, not solutions for Arizonans.”
