Mark Kelly for Senate Statement on GOP Primary Results
Today, Mark Kelly for Senate Campaign Manager Emma Brown released the following statement after Blake Masters won the Arizona Senate Republican primary.
“Senator Kelly is an independent leader who cuts through political noise to deliver real results for Arizonans, like lowering costs at the grocery store and gas pump, creating good-paying Arizona jobs, and changing the way Washington works,” Brown said.
“Blake Masters has dangerous beliefs that are wildly out of step with Arizona and harmful to Arizona families – like a national abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest and privatizing social security. Meanwhile, Kelly’s work has earned him broad support across the state from Republicans, Independents and Democrats alike. Arizonans trust Kelly to always put our state first, which is why they are joining this people-powered campaign that is rocketing full speed ahead to November.”
Repeatedly ranked one of the most bipartisan members of the Senate, Kelly has proven he is willing to work with anyone to deliver results for Arizona. He spearheaded the bipartisan effort to pass legislation that will increase microchip manufacturing in Arizona, create jobs, ease supply chain demands, and help us out-compete and out-innovate our adversaries like China. Kelly also led and shaped the historic bipartisan infrastructure law that will fix roads and bridges, invest in Arizona’s water infrastructure, and expand high-speed internet. And, working with his Republican colleagues, Kelly secured federal resources to help make the process at our southern border more secure, orderly, and humane.
Kelly’s work for Arizona has earned him the support of a broad coalition of Arizonans. In June, Kelly launched “Latinos for Kelly,” a coalition of over 100 Latino leaders backing his campaign, and in July, “Republicans for Kelly,” a group of nearly 50 Republican and Independent community leaders, elected officials, and small business owners who’ve come together to endorse him. The campaign also raised $13.6 million in the second quarter alone, signifying the sheer volume behind Kelly’s momentum towards November.
