Mark Kelly: Arizonans Need Help, Not More Political Games from McConnell and McSally
Kelly: “McSally lacks the independence to stand up to McConnell and do anything about it”
Following reports that Senator Mitch McConnell privately told Republican Senators that he had advised the Trump administration against making a COVID relief deal with Democrats, Mark Kelly released the following statement:
“It’s unacceptable that Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are playing politics and putting off coronavirus relief until after the election. Arizona workers and small businesses needed this help months ago. Again, small business owners, students, and workers who’ve lost their jobs due to the pandemic are paying the price for Washington’s failures, and it’s clear that Senator McSally lacks the independence to stand up to McConnell and do anything about it.”
Kelly has called for Democrats and Republicans in Congress to work together and provide coronavirus relief for Arizonans. Throughout the campaign, Kelly has prioritized speaking with Arizonans about ways to support families during the pandemic and how Washington can serve Arizona’s communities during this crisis.
